Continual Professional Development

We strongly believe that our staff should be nurtured, supported, and continually developed. No role is an exception to this and there is no ceiling to career development at our academy.

Support staff and teaching staff are supported professionally to ensure they can effectively have an impact in their role and are valued and recognised for their work.

We have an extensive professional development programme within the academy, where staff are enrolled in further professional qualifications, whether through apprenticeship routes, NPQs, masters, or other professional qualifications.

All staff are involved in reflective practice, coaching, weekly deliberate practice, and CPD focused on academy, subject and individual priorities.

Sharing Knowledge and Resources

United Learning schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum, and our online learning portal help us share knowledge and resources, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

Our approaches within the academy support this so that our main focus can be on planning and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

As an example, all behaviour and detentions are managed centrally by the Inclusion Team. This allows teachers the time and capacity to deliver high-quality lessons and supports their workload and well-being.

Support staff have opportunities to shadow and collaborate with equivalent roles across our cluster schools. Engaging in CPD and best practice at least once a term with a counterpart.
