Education with Character

We want our students to leave Salford City Academy having had a fun, safe space to explore and discover new experiences and hidden talents, guided by a team with expertise in personal development. We want to cultivate our students’ character and develop well-rounded, confident, responsible individuals who aspire to achieve and flourish in society.

Education with Character is the wider personal development of our students in conjunction with the academic education they receive at Salford City Academy. It aims to instil in students a number of character strengths such as resilience, honesty, and motivation, all of which will help them in their adult lives. We believe that these strengths are not merely given but can be developed through teaching and practice.

Salford City Academy’s ASPIRE Programme

Developing the building blocks of character is at the heart of the ASPIRE programme.  Students learn about considering right and wrong, making informed decisions, exercising empathy, and reflecting on their thoughts and actions which will help them to consider what role they play in their community and how they can contribute to society.

In school, character is demonstrated by students walking with purpose, wearing their uniform with pride, showing respect and courtesy to staff and other students, attending the academy daily on time, and committing fully to their learning both in school and beyond the classroom. When students leave Salford City Academy, these character strengths will support them in achieving their ambitions in further and higher education, in their careers, and as successful citizens in society.

Our talented team at SCA support and contribute to the success of the ASPIRE programme dedicating time, expertise, and energy to our exciting enrichment programme.
